The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has introduced a new registration system for British nationals resident in and visiting countries overseas. British nationals resident in Malawi who are currently registered with the High Commission in Lilongwe will be required to re-register. Introduction of biometric data collection for all visa applicants
BRITAIN INTRODUCES FINGER SCANNING AND DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS AS PART OF VISA APPLICATION PROCESS
From 11 July the British High Commission in Malawi will introduce collection of biometric data in the form of finger scanning and digital photographs as part of the visa application process. All applicants for UK visas in Malawi will be required to attend the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Lilongwe to have their fingers electronically scanned and photographs taken by means of digital camera.
